You need a Good Stationery and Corporate Identity

ENGAGE YOUR CUSTOMERS
Recognition of your company is the key element of a successful business. No matter the size of your company, maintaining a consistent brand image throughout all of your various marketing, can mean the difference between success or failure for you and your business. Engaging your customers and grabbing their attention will establish an emotional connection, creating a desire to work with only your company.

In today’s online world, a company’s stationery has become the last tangible piece of marketing, making your stationery design critical in making a lasting impression. Often, the first impression of a company is their letterhead, note card, business card or other stationery, therefore choosing the right logo, placement, colors and other elements for your stationery is essential.

Your stationery design will help to form a lasting impression of your company.  Ensuring that your customers and potential customers recognize your company is part of your branding strategy and the overall goal when designing your stationery.  Not only does it identify your brand, but also reinforces your credibility.

FUNCTION AND PLACEMENT
As with all forms of communication, your stationery must be functional.  It’s design should allow for easy readability of your company’s important information:  name, address, phone number, email address, or other important information (such as registration numbers).  Placing this pertinent information in the correct position for accessibility is important, while less important information can be incorporated into other areas of the stationery design.

COLOR SCHEME
Color can draw attention to your stationery and convey your branding.  The right color can be extremely powerful, by highlighting an important area or communicating a specific idea.  Color signifies quality and value in the reader’s eye and is visually appealing.  To ensure consistency, usage of your company’s official colors in your stationery design will solidify your branding.

TYPEFACES / FONTS
Your font should express professionalism.  While your font should be easy to read, you should take your audience into consideration when designing your stationery.  Age, attention span and demographics all play a role in choosing the proper font.  Different fonts attract different audiences.  Consider how much reading and what type of information you are asking your audience to view.  Once chosen, this font will be another reflection of your brand and image.

PAPER QUALITY
Choosing high-quality paper will make your stationery design look more professional.  There are many different paper stocks available today, each with their own characteristics.  Some are smooth and heavy, while others may have a rich texture.  Choosing a glossy finish or a matte finish can be the difference in making your design pop.  You may wish to consider adding special effects to your stationery design.  Embossing, foil blocking, die-cutting and other special effects can add a sophistication to your design, giving you a marketing piece that will be remembered.
